Last week we let you know about Urban Mountaineering and leaked some photos of a prototype rucksack I built for Dave Blasfome, this week we wanted to show you a final product and talk about some design advancements.

After about a week of testing, Dave and I worked on adjusting the features used in his rucksack. In addition to better assembly techniques and shoulder strap dynamics, we’ve redesigned the laptop pocket into a removable, floating laptop slip (pictures coming soon).  We’ve added more back padding and some extra length in the sternum strap to help the bag keep shape and to allow more adjust-ability.  The pockets are performing well and I’m working out cleaner looking flaps.

Overall, we’re geeked on how this backpack turned out and I’m looking forward to applying these features into some production backpacks.
