Pittsburgh’s Official MC Competition is back for a 12th installment that features MH the Verb and headliner Oddisee.

Hosted by Thelonious Stretch with DJ Kava on the 1’s & 2’s.
Additional guest appearances and DJ sets to be announced.

The 12th competition will feature 8 MC’s from the region spinning the Wheel of Skillz in four rounds of freestyle flowmanship. The winner gets bragging rights + a prize package including studio time, clothing and accessories, performance opportunities, and exclusive promotional packages.

ABOUT THE GUEST ARTISTS…
MH the Verb (mhtheverb.com), a former Pittsburgh resident, has spent the past few years laying roots in Philly and New York while crafting a sound that blends golden era hip-hop with the contemporary alt-hiphop aesthetic of Kid Cudi and Wale. His 2011 release “Cult Classic” made waves across blogosphere and his new album. always known for his captivating live performances, MH will be joined by his DJ and drummer to get the party started right.

Oddisee (Oddiseemusic.com), an MC/Producer from the nation’s capital is also the lead artist and consultant for Mello Music Group, one of the foremost emerging independent hip-hop labels. From growing up amidst the sounds of New York hip hop, his father playing Oud, Go-Go, and gospel, Oddisee has gone on to perform with The Roots, produce for Freeway, Jazzy Jeff, Little Brother, De La Soul & Nikki Jean, and has MC’d on production from Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke and Kev Brown. But his proudest moment was the birth of his critically acclaimed group The Diamond District with fellow Washingtonians X.O. and yU. His debut album “People See What They Hear”, just dropped in June and is already on its way to critical acclaim.
